Our October's first Friday began with a breezy bike trail with the guys from Courteous Mass. Riding down the streets of Bryan we were greeted by the town's friendly commuters as we passed by.
There were so many sounds and sights to see, everything from the expected street corner buskers singing about love and government shutdowns, to a more unexpected belly dancing group and violin loopers.
Wordsmiths from all over Texas were competing in the Grand Slam Poetry festival at the Palace theatre. Scenes depicting social issues, personal relationships, and self discovery reached the ears of the hundred plus attendees that were there.
The night ended for us at Revolutions, where we spectated classically trained violin looper Violinda, and the group Featherface which produced sounds reminiscent of Deep Purple, Queen and Yes.
